The Indian International Science Festival was organised in Lucknow at the venue, Indira Gandhi Pratisthan from 5th-6th October, 2018. There were various events that were a part of this festival like Young Scientist Conference, Student Engineering Model Competition, Art and Film Festival and many more.
The Young Scientist Conference was held between 5th and 6th October, 2018. The first day (5th October) featured the inauguration of Conference by Dr. Harsh Vardhan, the incumbent minister in the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Ministry of Earth Sciences. There were guest sessions related to different aspects of Science, technology and startups by eminent and renowned personalities like Prof. G.R. Desiraju (IISC Bangalore), Prof. Kantesh Balani ( IIT- Kanpur), Dr. Dhanajay Dendikuri (Founder Akira Lab).
Mr. Aviral Malay (Assistant Professor, ECE) from ABESIT attended this conference as one of the selected participants who displayed the posters of their ideas and research under various themes like Digital India, Swatch Bharat, Make in India, Swastha Bharat etc. According to him, it was indeed a pleasure and a matter of pride to be amongst fellow researchers and faculties displaying and discussing ideas amongst themselves and getting expert tips and suggestions from renowned Professors and scientist visiting the conference. The next day featured some exciting and informative guest lectures from Prof. Mauro Giacca (DG, ICGEB, Italy) and Dr. Amitabh Prakash (Editor in Chief, Springer Health Care).
Towards the evening of 6th October, IISF was inaugurated by Honorable President of India, Ram Nath Kovind. He also stressed on various schemes being introduced by the Government of India to promote startups and the Make in India movement and how vital the youth and students of this country are in the development of India and its growth.
