One-day Workshop on “Achieving Effective Teaching with Clear and Productive Communication” was organized on February 17, 2018 at ABESIT. Dy. Director Prof. (Dr.) S.S. Chauhan inaugurated the workshop. Prof. (Dr.) Vipin Garg, Advisor, ABESIT, showered his blessings for the success of the workshop that aimed at enhancing the teaching effectiveness of B.Tech First Year Teachers.
Speaker Prof. (Dr.) Simmi Gurwara, Head-Professional Development, spoke about the purpose of the workshop. In the First Session, Dr. Gurwara stressed upon
a) knowing the audience: demographics, psychological profiles, preferred learning style, likely attention span, knowledge levels, interest and state of mind
b) the power of professional appearance: boosting professional image and workplace etiquettes and c) nuances of body language: awareness about the importance of non-verbal communication. The Second Session included a) better usage of blackboard and greater understanding of the importance of Practical and Tutorial classes b) making every student realize that he/she is unique and
c) changing negatives to positives by detecting and rewording confusing, as well as counterproductive negative phrases.
The workshop was a huge success as the participants were actively involved with rapt attention and readiness to learn throughout the twin sessions. Dr. S.K. Arya, Head-Applied Science and Humanities, extended vote of thanks.
