The Department offers Bachelor of Technology programme in Information Technology. The faculty and staff members of Department are well qualified and efficient in guiding the students in every field of the Information Technology. The area of Information Technology aims at design, implementation and management of computer-based information systems. These automated information systems are capable of storing, transmitting and retrieving of all types of complex data. The Department develops IT Graduates having good problem-solving capabilities, communication skills and habit to learn new technologies. Apart from prescribed university curriculum, focus is on practical and skill-based training to ensure that students grow according to changing market scenario.

Technical Clubs and Societies

IT Technical Club aims to provide the students, a platform to develop their skills, problem-solving capability and creating a feeling of competition among them. The club focuses on enhancing the personality and technical innovativeness of the students of IT department by organizing the workshops and different quiz/competitions. The club activities are organized by the students for the students.


The IT Technical Club aims for the following and is responsible for:
  • Promoting and encouraging student leadership within the IT Department
  • Collection of funds and the disbursement of student activity/event funds.
  • Recommending and approving the conduction of events.
  • Planning and coordinating events and to encourage students to participate in events.
  • Encouraging the students to participate at National level Tech-Fest and other technical events all around nation.

Computer Society of India

Computer Society of India is the first and largest national body representing computer professionals. It has It has 72 chapters across India, 511 student branches, and 100,000 members. The Society has developed a well-established network of "Student Branches" all across the country. Objective-to enhance the skills of students and technical professionals for developing and applying technology to improve global conditions. The activities conducted for the students associated with the Society include lecture meetings, seminars, conferences, training programmes, programming contests and practical visits to installations. Total 56 students of IT branch are the members of CSI.
