Expert Talk on “Construction of Elevated Metro Structures”

Department of Civil Engineering organized an Expert Lecture by Mr. Nithil Malguri(Senior Design Engineer) for all Civil Engineering students on 27^th August on ‘Construction of Elevated Metro Structures’. Mr. Nithil Malguri is B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from IIT Roorkee and M.Tech. in Structural Engineering from IIT Delhi.Nithil Malguri gave a vivid description of Construction of Elevated Metro Structures in which he explained Pre and Post Tensioned Box girder/ I girder/ U girder, Ramp and RCC deck slab for various locations at different conditions in DMRC and other metro rail transit systems. He highlighted various methods and techniques that have been recently adopted for launching girder over piers.The lecture was found very informative and meaningful by faculty members and students.
